Sighting the Moon of Ramadan
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Istihlal (moonsighting) committee in Iran announced that Tuesday, May 7, will be the first day of the holy month of Ramadan in the country.
Istihlal refers to efforts for sighting the new moon that determines the beginning of a new month on the lunar Hijri calendar.
