Forum to Discuss Ayatollah Taskhiri’s Character, Thoughts

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Islamic Culture and Relations Organization plans to hold a forum to discuss the character and thoughts of late Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Taskhiri.

 

Scholars, thinkers and personalities from Iran and other countries in the Muslim world will take part in the forum, marking the 40th day after the senior cleric’s demise.

It will be organized both via video-conference and in in-person format on Tuesday.

Ayatollah Taskhiri died of a heart attack in late August at the age of 76.

A renowned religious figure in the Muslim world, Ayatollah Taskhiri also served as head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization and advisor to the Leader on Muslim world affairs.

During the time he served as secretary general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, he made great efforts towards reinforcing unity among Muslims.

He wrote and translated tens of books on Islam and the Muslim world.
