TEHRAN (IQNA) – Members of Iran’s Quranic community will visit the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini (RA) in southern Tehran to renew allegiance with the ideals of the late founder of the Islamic Republic.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Reza Shafiei, an official with the Headquarters for holding Ten-Day fajr (Dawn) celebrations, marking the anniversary of victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, said Quran masters, Qaris, memorizers, experts, Quran veterans and other Quran activists will visit the mausoleum on Tuesday.

He said that due to the coronavirus restrictions, the number of those taking part in the program will be limited this year.

Every year, Quran activists visit the mausoleum ahead of the Ten-Day Fajr celebrations to renew allegiance with the ideals of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Millions of Iranians across the country observe ten days of celebrations in February every year marking the anniversary of the victory of the revolution that put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country.

The day of Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran marks the beginning of the Ten Days of Dawn, which culminates with the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 40 years ago, ending the 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.

The Islamic Revolution spearheaded by the late Imam Khomeini established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.
