Ahl-ul-Bayt University Launches Int’l Innovation Center

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Ahl-ul-Bayt University inaugurated an international innovation center in a ceremony in Tehran on Sunday.

 

The Yaas center aims to support entrepreneurship, facilitate commercialization of knowledge-based ideas, help create jobs and enhance the capabilities of Muslim university students in knowledge-based economy.

It will also create opportunities for extensive ties with the Muslim world’s educational and research institutes.

The ceremony was attended by Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari and President of the university Saeed Jazari.

In an address, Sattari highlighted the need for the private sector’s investment in development of technology.

He added that universities and academic centers should have interaction with the society and grounds should be prepared for such an interaction.

Hojat-ol-Islam Jazari in his speech elaborated on the activities of the Ahl-ul-Bayt University, noting that all of its students are foreigners.

He said it plays a major role in scientific diplomacy.

The cleric also noted that the university offers majors in various fields, from engineering to humanities.

Hojat-ol-Islam Reza Ramezani, the secretary general of the World Ahl-ul-Bayt Assembly, was another speaker at the program.

He said there are students from 15 countries studying at the Ahl-ul-Bayt University, adding that the capacity to admit students is going to be increased.

He also hailed the growing status of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s scientific and scholarly fields.
