Al-Azhar Holding Educational Course for Mali Preachers

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An educational course has been organized for preachers and imams of mosques from the Republic of Mali at the World Organization for Al-Azhar Graduates in Cairo.

 

According to youm7.com, the course has been held with the participation of 24 imams of mosques and preachers of the African country.

Al-Azhar’s World Academy for Training Imams of Mosques, Preachers and Fatwa Researchers has organized the program, which will take three weeks to conclude.

“How to avoid extremism in understanding religious texts”, “principles of peaceful coexistence and its useful results”, “pillars of critical intellect and its difference with extremist thought” and “making use of social media for propagation” are some of the themes of the course.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the course, Muhammad Al-Mahrasawi, the president of Al-Azhar University, said that Egypt has strong relations in different fields with the Republic of Mali.

The participants in the course will get acquainted with Al-Azhar’s methods in dissemination of religion, facing extremism and dissemination of moderate Islam.
