World Recognizes Bahraini People’s Demands as Rightful

Political : Manama’s interim Friday prayers leader said the whole world recognizes that Bahraini people’s demands are rightful.

Sayyid Majid Al-Masha’al who delivered Fridya prayers sermons at Manama’s Imam Sadeq (AS) Mosque on January 3, added that the political, popular and peaceful movement of the Bahraini nation is not affected by foreign and regional elements, Al-A’hd daily reported.

Ayatollah Sheikh Issa Qassem, the Friday prayers leader of the city, could not deliver sermons yesterday because of illness.

Al-Masha’al underlined that no one can accuse the movement of being against justice, equality and dignity of the Bahraini nation.

Meanwhile, people in Manama staged peaceful demonstrations on Friday condemning the oppressive measures taken by Al Khalifa regime against protests.

The demonstrators also slammed the continuation of the arrests and destruction of mosques by the regime.

They also reiterated their resolve to continue their protest rallies until their legitimate demands are met.

In other news, Sheikh Ali Salman, secretary general of Al-Wefaq National-Islamic Movement of Bahrain, stressed the need for continuation of peaceful protests.

He also called for creation of impartial committees to investigate the issues about which the regime and the opposition differ.  

 Bahrain has been the scene of demonstrations since mid-February 2011. Thousands of pro-democracy protesters have staged numerous demonstrations in the streets of Bahrain, calling for the Al Khalifa family to relinquish power.
