Meet Egyptian Teacher Who Has Trained Thousands of Quran Memorizers
Living in Mit Abu El-Kom village, Monufia Governorate, the Quranic teachers has managed to teach the Holy Quran to some 12,000 children, Almasrnews reported.
He describes visiting the Kaaba and kissing the Black Stone as a turning point in his life. Amer says while visiting the holy place some 30 years ago, he prayed to God to become a Quran memorizer.
He managed to commit the Holy Book to his memory in a relevantly short period and then decided to teach the Quran to the village's children, especially since a senior Quran memorizer of the village, named Sheikh Abd Hamid, had passed away.
Villagers did not expect that someone could have plans for teaching the Quran to children, however, after Amer started the work with few students, people gradually started to recognize him and even people from nearby villages would send their children to Amer's classes for memorization.
After performing Fajr Prayer, Sheikh Amer rides his bike to the class and starts teaching children with passion and for free till Zuhr prayer.
After Egyptian media outlets spotted the Quranic figure who trains Quran memorizers only for God, some Egyptian authorities, including the chief sheikh of Al-Azhar, have lauded his efforts.
