IQNA – The glorified names of Hazrat Zahra (SA) each point to part of the innumerable virtues of the beloved daughter of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Hazrat Fatima (SA)

This is according to senior cleric Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mousa Shubeiri Zanjani, who sent a message to IQNA on the occasion of Hazrat Zahra’s (SA) birth anniversary.

The auspicious occasion, the Kawthar of the Holy Quran, is a good opportunity to study the special status of the great lady and this can be better achieved through the words and teachings of religious scholars and moral figures.

Hence, the International Quran News Agency (IQNA) asked Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mousa Shubeiri Zanjani to send us an exclusive message on this issue and the grand cleric granted the request and sent us a letter in which he offered points about the character of Hazrat Zahra (SA).

Following is the letter by Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mousa Shubeiri Zanjani:

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Praise be to Allah as His Power is magnificent and there is no god but Allah whose Izzat is humble and peace and blessings be upon Muhammad (PBUH) and his progeny.

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “I named my daughter Fatimah (the Weaned One) because Allah weaned her and those who love her from the Fire.” (1)

I would like to congratulate the 20th day of the month of Jumada al-Thani, the day marking the birthday of the Lady of the two worlds, Hazrat Fatimah Zahra (SA), to Hazrat Baqiatllah, Imam Zaman, may God hasten his glad advent, and pray to God to expedite the return of the last Imam (AS).

Speaking about the virtues of the Shafiah (intercessor) of the Day of Judgment, (the daughter of) Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Hazrat Siddiqa Tahira (SA) is very difficult.

How can one talk about a character whom Angel Gabriel (AS) condoled for 75 days after the demise of (her father) the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and told her about the virtues of the last messenger and informed her about “Maa Takun”? Hazrat Wasi, the best of people after the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the Commander of the Faithful (AS), wrote these words of the Trustee of Revelation (Gabriel) in a book known as the “Mus’haf of Fatima”. It is a book in which, contrary to what the spiteful enemies of Islam claim, there is nothing from the Quran. In more than 20 credible Hadiths, many of which have reliable Sanad (chain of narrators), this book and its features have been described. (2)

In ordinary books, too, the virtues of this Lady (SA) have been described frequently. For example, a Hadith has been narrated from the Holy Prophet (PBUH), who said, “Once an angel who had never descended to earth asked Almighty Allah to allow him to descend to earth, pay respects to me and tell me the glad tidings that Hazrat Fatima (SA) is the lady of all women of Jannah (paradise) and Hassan and Hussein are the lords of all youths of Jannah.” (3)

Hakim Nayshaburi says about her that it has been narrated that whenever she went to the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the Prophet (PBUH) would rise up and greet her and kiss her hand and this was as a sign of respect to her mother, Kadijah (SA) and to herself.

He (Hakim Nayshaburi) then refers to a narration with a credible Sanad from Aisha, who said: “I have not seen anyone more similar to the Prophet (PBUH) in speaking than Fatima. Whenever Fatima went to the Prophet, the Prophet would greet her, stand up and go to her, take her hand and kiss it and sit her down in his own place. And whenever the Prophet (PBUH) went to Fatima, she would greet him, stand up and take his hand and kiss it. When the Prophet (PBUH) was on his deathbed, Fatima entered (the room). (The Prophet) greeted her and kissed her and spoke to her secretly. She cried. The Prophet talked to her again. (This time) she laughed. I told myself that I considered virtues for this woman but now I see that she like other women because she laughs as she is crying! I asked her about it and she said she would not reveal the Prophet’s secret. (4)

After the demise of the Prophet (PBUH), I asked her again and she said, ‘The Prophet told me that he would die, and I cried. Then he told me secretly that I would be the first in the family to join him’.” (4)

The treasured names of that Lady who is God’s beloved each point to part of her innumerable virtues and a great deal must be said in explaining and interpreting them.

On this auspicious occasion, I would just repeat the above-mentioned honorable Hadith and wish that Lady’s Shafa’ah (intercession) for her devotees):

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “I named my daughter Fatimah (the Weaned One) because Allah weaned her and those who love her from the Fire.”
