A number of senior officials, including Minster of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili and Head of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Mehdi Khamoushi, attended the event.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi had been scheduled to officiate the closing ceremony but could not make it due to a minor illness.
After recitation of the Quran and speeches by a number of officials, the winners of the contest, as well as international Quran competitions for women, school students and visually impaired, were announced.

The final stage of the 38th international Quran competition of Iran had kicked off on Monday.
A total of 62 qaris and memorizers from 29 countries competed in this stage of the event, which was held virtually.
