TEHRAN (IQNA) – Social media activists in Tunisia have launched a campaign on Twitter and Facebook against normalization of relations with the Israeli regime.

Opposition in Arab world to normalization of ties with Israel

Its mottos are “millions against normalization” and “Tunisians against normalization”.

The activists want to show their opposition to any attempt at normalization with Israel in the region, Al-Ahed News reported.

They say criminalizing normalization with the Tel Aviv regime is a national and human responsibility.

A large number of people from Tunisia and other Arab countries have jointed the campaign.

Yayha Mohammad, an activist, said the social and civil movement in Tunisia against normalization demonstrates the fact that the resistance against all forms of normalization is tireless and persistent.

He said the youth play an important role in spreading the culture of resistance among all Muslim nations in the region.

He added that certain Arab states’ normalization with Israel undermines Islamic societies and run counter to Arab world’s identity and ideals.

In 2020, four Arab countries – the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco – agreed to normalize their relations with Israel under US-brokered agreements.

Spearheaded by the UAE, the move has sparked widespread condemnations from the Palestinians as well as nations and human rights advocates across the world, especially within the Muslim world.

Saudi Arabia is also said to have moved secretly toward normalizing ties the Israeli regime.
