6th National Group Quran Contest for Students Wraps Up in Iraq

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The sixth edition of a national group Quran competition for university students concluded on Thursday in Karbala.

 

The contest was organized by the Dar-ol-Quran of Imam Hussein (AS) Holy Shrine and Warith-al-Anbiya University of Iraq.

According to a statement released by the Quranic center, the competition lasted for four days with the participation of more than 80 students from 28 universities from across Iraq.

The competition included memorization, recitation, and tafsir (interpretation) categories.

The team of Kufa University won the top award while teams from University of Thi-Qar and University of Baghdad ranked second and third respectively.

A number of Quranic circles and workshops were also held on the sidelines of the event.

Promoting Quranic skills of the students and Quranic activities in universities as well as identifying talents have been named among the aims of the event.
