TEHRAN (IQNA) – From the time Adam (AS) came to the earth until the Day of Judgment, most problems faced by mankind can be resolved if we manage to develop a small habit.

interaction with people

What is this small key that unlocks big locks? It is good manners and good-temperedness.

Husn Khulq (good manners) is a series of qualities that make one popular with people. Husn Khulq has many good outcomes. For example, helps one attract people’s love and compassion. That will help him to attract people’s trust and similarly more and more blessings come his way.

That is why God tells the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the Holy Quran: “Only through the Divine Mercy have you (Muhammad) been able to deal with your followers so gently. If you had been stern and hard-hearted, they would all have deserted you a long time ago.” (Verse 159 of Surah Al-Imran)

Husn Khulq also brings about peace of mind and calm and helps one to live a long life. Today we see that many deaths are caused by stress, anxieties, and similar causes.

Imam Sadiq (AS) said doing good deeds and having Husn Khulq help homes to flourish and causes one to live longer.

Ethics scholars recommend several ways for achieving Husn Khulq. They include:

1- Acting against one’s desires:

In this method, one who knows, for example, that he is suffering from a disease called stinginess, acts in spite of his stinginess and generously gives what he has to others. Or if he is suffering from envy, he praises and commends the one whom he is jealous of.

2- Following a role model:

God praises the Holy Prophet (PBUH) for his Husn Khulq: “You have attained a high moral standard.” (Verse 4 of Surah Al-Qalam)

So the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Imams (AS) are the best role models following whose conduct and Seerah can help us develop Husn Khulq.
