Quran Schools’ Popularity Growing in Algeria

ALGIERS (IQNA) – The achievements of those attending Quran schools in Algeria have made parents interested in sending their children to these schools.

Students and graduates of Quran schools in the North African country show a greater rate of achievements in different areas and that has made parents keen to send their kids to these schools

In recent years, Quran schools have been received warmly in Algeria, encouraging officials of the schools to seek the establishment of new branches and developing their activities.

Ammar Al-Raqaba, principal of Iqra Quran School, one of the most renowned in the country, said such a warm reception by parents and students highlights the positive effects of Quranic education in students’ life in general and in the field of education.  

He said that memorization of the Quran not only enhances the students’ religious knowledge but also gives them self-confidence and helps them learn many other skills.

Most of those attending Quran schools in Algeria study in fields other than religion and religious sciences.

Algeria is a country in North Africa. Muslims make up about ninety-nine percent of the country's population.
