Mahdi Karimi, the director of Imam Reza library digital section, said that the donations would greatly contribute to the expansion of digital sources and better accessibility through the digital library.
Karimi estimated the value of the references to be around $28,000, which include digital copies of manuscripts, periodicals, etc., partially obtained from Hazrat Ma’soumeh shrine, National Library and Iran Institute.
“On average, some 250 researchers use the digital services of the shrine electronic library every month,” said Ali Zarrabi, the head of cyber space in Organization of Libraries, Museums and Documents.

Zarrabi explained that the electronic library was launched in 2010 to facilitate the public’s access to digital services, and that currently the electronic and digital services are available for both Iranians and non-Iranians.
“Some one million digital sources on different subjects such as Islamic Science, and exquisite books are available for the public on disks,” he added.
Zarrabi also said that those who would like to use online services of the electronic library should visit the website.
