TEHRAN (IQNA) – On the second day of Kuwait’s 11th international Quran competition, 13 contenders in different categories went onto the stage Friday to display their talents and mastery.

Among them was Iran’s representative in memorization of the entire Quran Ali Gholamazad.

The country’s two other contenders are Shoja Zuwaidat from Khuzestan province who vies for the top title in memorization of the entire Quran along with observance of the ten styles of recitation, and Reza Rezaei from Gilan province who competes Iran in the teenagers section.

Their turns for answering the questions of the panel of judges come on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The 11th edition of Kuwait’s international Holy Quran competition started in the Arab country on Thursday, October 13.

It has been received warmly by the people of the Arab country.

Based on official figures, a total of 126 Quran memorizers and reciters from 70 countries are taking part in the competition.

The top winners will receive cash prizes totaling 152,000 Kuwaiti dinars.

According to the organizers, the competition, which will run until October 19, can be watched online via the website of Kuwait’s Awqaf ministry.
