Kazakhstan Mufti Underlines Role of Scholars in Strengthening Muslim Unity

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Sheikh Nauryzbai Haji Taganuly, Grand Mufti of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said it is incumbent upon Muslim scholars and thinker to work for boosting unity in the Islamic Ummah.

He made the remark while addressing the second Regional Islamic Unity Conference in Golestan Province, north of Iran, on Wednesday.

The senior cleric added that the Muslim Ummah should safeguard and strengthen its unity and coherence for getting the blessings of God.

He further hailed the regional conference on Islamic unity and said the event contributes to the enhancement of bonds among Muslims.

He thanked the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) for organizing the conference and said such gatherings serve as venues for Muslim scholars and thinkers to meet one another and exchange views.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the Grand Mufti of the Republic of Kazakhstan highlighted the effects of the Islamic Revolution of Iran on the Muslim world and on his country.

The conference kicked off in Gorgan, capital of Golestan Province, on Tuesday, and will conclude today.

Twenty Shia and Sunni scholar from Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan address the two-day event.

‘School of Martyr Soleimani; Model for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and Realization of New Islamic Civilization’ is the main theme of the conference.

It is, among other things, aimed at developing the culture of proximity among Islamic schools of thought, elaborating on the significance of Islamic proximity, and introducing Islamic proximity as one of the main accomplishments of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
