Quran Recitation Contest Held in Lahore Ahead of Holy Prophet’s Birthday

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Alhamra Arts Center in Lahore, Pakistan, hosted a grand competition on recitation of the Holy Quran.

It was held on Friday in connection with Ashra Rehmatul-Lil-Alameen (PBUH) - celebrations marking the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The program started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Hamd-o-Sanaa (eulogies in praise of the Prophet (PBUH)).

The students of schools, colleges and madrasas participated in the competition and recited the Holy Quran.

Muhammad Muzamil Riaz, Muhammad Ziauddin, Qari Muhammad Shahzad, Muhammad Abdul Wahab Ibrahim, Muhammad Rafiq Qasmi, Burhan Rasool, Muhammad Fayyaz, Muhammad Umair, Muhammad Qasim, Qari Muhammad Zain-Ul-Abidin, Syed Muhammad Khan, Zubair Ahmed bin Abdur Rehman, Akhtar Zaib bin Abdul Rehman, Naseerullah, Hafiz Muhammad Zainul Hasan, Hafiz Umar Farooq and others participated in the recitation contest and recited the Holy Quran in their beautiful voice.

On the occasion, Executive Director Alhamra Zul-fiqar Ali Zulfi thanked the participants in the competition and said, “These events require us to be active in adapting our lives according to the sacred Uswa-e-Husna (PBUH).”

The shields and certificates were given to those who secured prominent positions in the recitation contest.

Alhamra will continue the celebrations of Ashra Rahmatul-Lil-Alameen (PBUH) till the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal (Sunday).
