Titled Amma Yatasa’aloon (another name for the 30th Juz), the contest is aimed at promoting understanding of the meanings and concepts of the verses of the Holy Book.

The ministry announced the launch of registration for participation in the first stage of the Quranic event earlier this week.

It will be held for three groups of contenders: students of schools and universities other than Al-Azhar, students, preachers ad teachers of Al-Azhar, and other groups of people.

There will be separate sections for men and women, according to the Awqaf ministry.

It said top participants will receive cash prizes at an awarding ceremony slated to be held on Laylat al-Qadr during the holy month of Ramadan (April 2023).

Egypt is a country in North Africa with a population of around 100 million. Muslims account for around 90 percent of its total population.

Quranic activities are very common in the Arab country.
