Day One of 40th Iran Int'l Quran Competition: Highlights
Four male qaris and memorizers went on stage as part of the 8th edition of the international Quran competition for the Muslim world school students which is being held concurrent with the 40th edition of Iran’s International Quran Competition.
In the adult categories of Tarteel and Tahqiq recitation, male representatives from Iran, Iraq, England, Algeria, Russia, Indonesia, Egypt, India, and Germany went on stage.

The competition also featured various cultural and artistic programs on the sidelines, such as a choral recitation by 164 young Iranian qaris that impressed the audience and the judges.
The 40th International Holy Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran began on Thursday in Tehran with the participation of Iranian officials and Quran enthusiasts from around the world.
According to the organizers, more than 110 countries registered for the competition and 69 finalists from 40 countries qualified for the final round after a preliminary screening.
The competition will continue until Tuesday, February 20, and the winners will be announced and awarded at the closing ceremony on Wednesday, February 21.

The annual event, organized by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, aims to promote the Quranic culture and values among Muslims and showcase the talents of Quran reciters and memorizers.
